Glass painting course
This workshop will take place over two, non-consecutive days. It will give beginners and those with some experience of leading glass an opportunity to learn the techniques of painting on glass to create a unique stained glass panel.
On day one you will:
Design and draw a design. Choose the glass and cut to fit your design
Explore painting on glass then paint your glass ready to be fired in the kiln.
On day two (which cannot be the next day as the kiln firing will take approx 24 hours) you will:
Lead your painted panel
Solder, cement and polish your piece
During these sessions beginners will also learn glass cutting, leading, soldering and cementing skills.
By the end of the course you will have a beautiful painted stained glass panel of your own design to take home.
Please come on the course with an open mind about what you make. If you do have some design ideas please contact me before the start of the course as the size and scope of your project must be achievable within two days and one overnight firing.
Please be prepared to stand for long periods of time. Pregnant women and nursing mothers unfortunately cannot work with lead.
